ABOUT THE PROJECT
Singer-songwriter Georgia Fields seeks funding to complete and release The Collector, her fourth studio album. The 11-track art-pop work will be released digitally and on CD in May 2027.
The Collector will be an art-pop album combining Georgia's signature “left-of-centre pop” songwriting with chamber strings, layered vocals, textural sound design and contemporary band instrumentation. While expansive in sonic scope, the work remains grounded in melodic alt-pop.
In 2026, Georgia self-funded the production of two singles from the forthcoming album: Chameleon (released April) and Night Swimming (released July). Both singles received airplay on community radio nationally, media coverage including a feature in Frankie Magazine, and positive audience engagement online. These releases have established the upcoming album's emerging sonic direction and generated early audience and industry momentum. (Note: Georgia is not requesting funding for any recording work that has already been completed.)
Creative Australia funding will enable Georgia to complete the album recording, and create the visual assets required to release the album at a professional level.
AUDIO EXAMPLES
Lead single Chameleon was released in April 2026 during Autism Awareness Month, introducing the album project and its themes to Georgia’s existing audience.

Night Swimming followed in July 2026, building momentum through strong audience engagement and radio support while further establishing the sonic and creative direction of The Collector.

ABOUT THIS GRANT APPLICATION
This application is for activity occurring from 7 December 2026 onwards. The funding request relates only to future project activity, and does not include any costs already incurred.
This request is for:
Recording & production costs (for remaining 9 album songs)
String quartet recording fees
Artwork – including single and album covers, and CD packaging design
Publicity photography
Professional video content (lyric video; live performance video)
Overhead costs associated with presenting an accessible, Auslan-interpreted album listening party
This project will provide paid employment for 9 arts workers or creatives. Georgia will manage the album publicity campaign, leveraging her existing networks in print media, radio, online media, and social media, as well as her established relationships with disability-led media and online autism communities.

Funding is sought to extend this aesthetic in an animated music video for proposed album track Skeleton Key.
